What they do
Pharmacy technicians contribute significantly to healthcare teams, working alongside clinical and community pharmacists as well as other healthcare professionals. Their role is pivotal in driving enhancements aimed at optimising safe and cost-effective prescribing practices to enhance patient care quality.
Key aims
- Managing repeat prescriptions.
- Conducting medication reviews.
- Addressing side-effects and dosages.
- Providing assistance with medication enquiries.
- Counseling patients to optimize medication use
- Offering guidance on new or high-risk medications.
How to connect with them
Our technicians usually work behind the scenes. If a pharmacy technician observes an issue or requires assistance, they typically elevate the concern to the clinical pharmacist for further investigation or advice.
